Jazz In Town: For Big Band Lovers

Big band at iris 2:3:14 full band_2If you are a lover of the Big Band sound and music, you may want to put this coming Sunday afternoon on  your calendar.  On Sunday, May 18th at 5:30pm, the Buffalo Brass Big Band will be giving a concert at Milkie's (the former Elmwood Lounge) on Elmwood and West Utica.  

Under the direction of trombonist Phil Sims, it promises to offer original music and a fantastic line-up of some of Buffalo's finest brass payers.

Here is what the line-up looks like for this coming Sunday:

Saxes: Sal Andolina, Ron Paladino, Kelly Bucheger, Craig Incontro, Kuriscak

Trombones, Stu Easter, Alan Janaecke, Lon Gormley, Phil Sims

Trumpets: Dennis Tribuzzi, John Maguda, Nelson Starr jr., Dr. Mark Filsinger, Jim Bohm

Guitar: Mike Moser

Piano: Tom Paladino

Bass: Jack Kulp

Drums, Dan Hull

Vocals: Heather Holden

You are bound to see plenty of familiar names.  So, you can expect some stellar big band jazz music – no doubt!

Tickets are $20 and reservations are suggested.
