To the east and the south of Buffalo are two premier jazz festivals taking place. They begin this weekend and through all of the week of the 22nd in Rochester. Bringing, within a few hours drive proximity, some of today's leading jazz headliners and exciting new acts in jazz.
To the south of Buffalo is the Pittsburgh Jazz Alive International Jazz Festival. Being held through tomorrow the 22nd, it will have such headliners as Gregory Porter, The Joe Locke Group, and Diane Reeves.

To the east ofBuffalo, we have the week long Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival. Spread out in multiple venues and streets, this is a week-long festive jazz event. This year features many upcoming jazz artists, some old favorites, and even bands for '70's style dancing like Earth, Wind, and Fire. The list is long but includes Roy Hargrove, Diane Schur, FOURPLAY, Gerald Clayton, Jason Marsalis, Cecile' McLorin Salvant, and many, many more! Includes free event stages with local high school, college, and Rochester-based jazz groups in addition to those requiring an admission charge.
