Summer jazz is underway! The highlight for this weekend is the appearance of the Phil DiRe Quintet with special guest Jay Beckenstein of Spyro Gyra fame at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery Summer Jazz Series this Sunday at 2pm. For more information see: Phil DiRe and Jay Beckenstein Reunite
The holiday weekend kicks off this Thursday with the B.A.M Trio at the Epic Lounge beginning at 7pm. Featuring Ben Levitt on bass, Abdul-Rahman Qadir on drums, and Matt Michaud on guitar.
More Jazz In Town
This Thursday also is another Music On Main event in the village of Willamsville. Making an appearance starting at 6pm are Jon Lehning on sax and Bernard Kunz on guitar at Milos. You will find also Kevin Doyle on keyboards and Guiche Pirela on percussion in front of Sweet Jenny's.
Custode & Parisi will be at the Pizza Plant this Thursday at 7pm.
The Jazz Example will be at the Anchor Bar Friday at 8pm. And on Saturday you can find Sol Y Sambra there at 8pm also.
The Oydessy Jazz Ensemble continues free open rehearsals at the Central Park Grill Sunday at 3pm.
