St. Patty’s Weekend Jazz. This weekend marks the annual St. Patrick’s Day and the St. Patty’s Day annual parade in downtown Buffalo. Let’s not forget the annual rite of paying homage to St. Joseph will find many St. Joseph Day tables throughout WNY this weekend and next week as well. The early years through today find many Irish-Americans and Italian-Americans who contributed to the rich history of jazz in Buffalo.

Jazz In Town
The M&T Second Friday at Burchfield Penney Museum will host jazz vocalist Barbara Levy Daniels Friday beginning at 5:30pm. With her will be Bobby Jones on piano, Ben Levitt on bass, and Abdul-Rahman Qadir on drums. Barbara cut a CD last year of standards and is working on another featuring Brazilian sounds to be released this year.
The Mary McMahon Project will be at Merge Saturday beginning at 7pm. Jazz vocalist Mary McMahon, 2014 JazzBuffalo Readers and Fan Poll Female Jazz Vocalist winner, will be joined by Michael McNeil on keyboards, Mark Harris on bass, and Tony Zambito on percussions.

Ladies First Jazz 13th Annual Women's History Month Concert
Award Winning All Female Big Band 'LADIES FIRST JAZZ" performs their 13th Annual Women's History Month Concert at the Tralf 622 Main St Buffalo on Saturday March 14th at 1pm. Partial Proceeds will benefit the Zonta Club of Buffalo. Tickets are $20 presale and $25 day of the show available at The Tralf Box office & Ticketmaster.
Remembering The Music Of Lionel Hampton
For jazz vibes lovers, you don’t want to miss this show upcoming on March 21st. The show takes place Saturday March 21st at 8pm at the Premier Cabaret at MusicalFare Theatre. It will feature the incomparable Joanne Lorenzo (2014 JazzBuffalo Readers and Fan Poll Jazz Vibes winner) on vibes along with legendary jazz bassist Sabu Adeyola, Michael McNeil on piano, Abdul-Rahman Qadir on drums, and Tony Zambito on percussion. Making a guest appearance will be jazz vocalist Mary McMahon. The music of jazz vibes made famous by Lionel Hampton spun-off a line of jazz vibes great from Milt Jackson to Gary Burton.
