Jazz all-stars throughout the Greater Buffalo area!
The stars of jazz are coming out this weekend from Black Rock to Allentown and as far as Artpark. The best of Buffalo jazz will be filling summer night sky with the music of jazz.
George Caldwell Quintet
On Thursday, June 25th at 7pm catch the George Caldwell Quintet at the Sportsmen Tavern. Here is what you will see and hear:
Playing the event are: music professor at the University of Rochester Eastman School of Music, Clay Jenkins (trumpet); Buffalo jazz icon, Bobby Militello (alto saxophone); first place winner of the International 2015 Scott LaFaro competition, Mike Forfia (contrabass) ; and, WNY’s first call percussionist and professor at State University of New York at Fredonia music, John Bacon (drums) led by Grammy Award winning pianist and University at Buffalo Jazz Professor, George Caldwell (piano).
The Mary McMahon Project: Great American Songbook
On Friday, June 26th at 8pm, at Pausa Art House, see the Mary McMahon Project for a performance of the Great American Songbook. This line up consists of May McMahon on vocals, Bobby Jones on piano, Tim Clarke on trumpet, Wayne Moose on bass, Abdul-Rahman Qadir on drums, and Tony Zambito on percussions. Hear music and songs from Gershwin, Cole Porter, and more.

Look for the jazz-fusion group at Pausa Art House Saturday, Jun 27th at 8pm. Recently back from a tour in Europe, this band offers original compositions in this genre of jazz. See Walter Kemp III on piano, Bernard Kunz on guitar, David “teaspoon” Hulett on drums, and James Bender on bass.
Ralph Fava And The Jazz All-Stars
Noted jazz guitarist Ralph Fava will be leading an all-star line-up for the ArtPark Music In The Woods Series at Artpark in Lewiston, NY on Sunday, June 28th, at 4pm. Joining Ralph Fava will be Bobby Jones on keyboards, Bobby Militello on sax, Bud Fadale on bass, and Paul Fadale on drums. (Congratulations also to Ralph Fava for 30 years of serving the music community through the Lockport Music Center!)

On Friday June 26 a 9pm catch the Alfie Alessandra Duo with Phil Sims at Saigon Cafe
On Saturday June 27th at 7pm see Mary McMahon o vocals, Bud Fadale on bass, Mike Moser on guitar, and Tony Zambito on hybrid percussion at Merge beginning at 7pm
On Saturday June 27 see Phil Sims on piano and Paul Zapolowski on bass at the Saigon Café at 9pm
