The summer jazz season of festivals saw many Buffalo jazz artist hit the stages and street of Lewiston. Fill the skies with the great music of jazz. It was also a momentous return home for jazz vocalist Paul Marinaro. Three shows sold out with top-flight music but more importantly, a great time of family and friends celebrating.
This holiday Labor Day weekend, jazz will still be filling the air throughout WNY!
Jazz In Town
This Wednesday, September 2nd beginning at 7pm, catch the duo of Janice Mitchell and Jim Beishline at GiGi’s Cucina Povera in Kenmore from 7pm until 10pm. The duo most recently performed at the Albright-Know Art Gallery summer series and always fills the room with beautiful music.
Ellen Pieroni Quartet will be at Nietzsche’s Wednesday, September 2 beginning at 9pm with Harry Graser, James Bender, and Colin Sperrazza
The band Fountainhead will be at McGarret’s Wednesday, September 2 beginning at 8pm as they host music and jazz jam
The Carol McLauglin Big Band will have open rehearsal on Thursday, September 3rd beginning at 8:30pm upstairs at the Historic Colored Musicians Club – here is a sweet video I found of this band rehearsing last year and with neat solos by Any Peruzzini
See Jazzline Friday, September 4th at the Roycroft Inn beginning at 8pm with Jennie Jones and Dennis Warne
The Jazz Cache’ will be at Nietzsche’s Sunday, September 6 beginning at 9pm with Mark Filsinger, Jared Tinkham, David Phillips, and Ben Levitt
The Jazz Example led by Doug “Trigger” Gaston continues their Friday night performances at the Anchor Bar beginning at 8pm
Oliver’s Restaurant features George Jones on piano with All Hands beginning at 7pm on Saturdays
Block off September 25th as Jazz Vibes performs at Pausa Art House. This will be a special fundraising event for Joanne Lorenzo and her work with the Mary Magdalene Project in Niagara County. Look for a star-studded list of jazz musicians chipping in.
