The next performance of the JazzBuffalo Sunday Jazz Series, in partnership with 189 Public House, will feature a very special guest who makes her home in Rochester, NY but also travels on national tours. We welcome the gifted cabaret and jazz vocalist Cindy Miller on Sunday, October 25th beginning at 5:30pm.
Miller is one of the most versatile jazz vocalists you will ever see. From emotive ballads to rhythmic jazz scatting, she will have you enthralled. She has performed with noted jazz guitarists Gene Bertoncini and a list of jazz superstars. Including flutist Hubert Laws, Chuck Mangione, world famous vibraphonist Peter Appleyard, pianist Ted Rosenthal, bassist Jay Leonhart, numerous appearances with the Gap Mangione Big Band, Benny Goodman Tribute Band, Central New York Jazz Ensemble, and has appeared many times with Michael Lasser, host of PBS radio's nationally syndicated show "Fascinatin' Rhythm.
During this special performance, she is sure to do her uniquely spectacular interpretations of songs from the Great American Songbook. Paying tribute to composers such as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, and Duke Ellington. Miller incorporates jazz vocalese throughout her performances and they are among the best you will hear. Joining Cindy Miller will be the superb jazz talents of Lisa Hasselback on keyboards, Wayne Moose on bass, and Dan Hull on drums.
