As we approach Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for in the community of jazz in Buffalo. We have seen a resurgence of jazz and more opportunities for audiences to enjoy the creative beauty of jazz. This Thanksgiving Holiday you will be able to find jazz throughout greater Buffalo.
Jazz In Town
On Wednesday, November 25th beginning at 6:30 pm at Mezza Restaurant, Wednesday Night Jazz hosted by Wayne Moose will feature Phil Dire on saxophone with George Caldwell on keyboards, John Bacon on drums, John Hasselback, Jr. on trombone, and Wayne Moose on bass. A thankfully super line-up!
On Friday, November 27th at 1:15 pm see solo guitarist Dennis Warne at Daily Planet Coffee in North Buffalo
On Saturday, November 28th beginning at 8 pm, see the return of the Sugar Katy Cool production of songs at Pausa Art House as they take you back in time to relive the sounds of the Andrew Sisters and do classics from the Great American Songbook. Featuring: Sydnie Perkins (Sugar), Katy Pookalyn Miner (Katty), Carolyn L W Lansom (Cool)
On Saturday, November 28th beginning at 8:30 pm at the Blue Bull Tavern you can see the Dave Schiavone Quartet with Joe Brancato on keyboards, John Werrick on bass, Bud Fadale on bass, and Peggy Scalzo on drums
On Wednesday, December 2nd see the Frank Gerard/Ray Chamberlain Quartet with vocalist Cheryl Ferris beginning at 7:30 pm at Masin’s Grille in Hamburg

See Sol Y Sombra, Latin jazz, at the Anchor Bar on Saturday’s beginning at 8pm.

Look for a special event on December 13th at 189 Public House as part of the JazzBuffalo Sunday Jazz Series as we present the # Tenors. Phil DiRe, Dave Schiavone, and Bobby Militello on tenor saxophones along with George Caldwell on keyboards.
