The JazzBuffalo scene hits the final stretch of 2015 and the upcoming holiday season with an abundance of gifts bearing the music of jazz. There will be fabulous jazz for every mode and taste of jazz. Certainly going to make for a jazzy holiday. It starts this weekend with some spectacular events at Pausa Art House.
Eleventet
This star-studded weekend kicks off with Mark Filsinger’s Eleventet on Thursday, December 3rd at 8 pm at Pausa Art House. The band includes the likes of Bobby Militello, Dave Schiavone, John Hasseback, Jr., Bobby Jones, Jim Bohm, Dr. Rick Fleming, and others. Mark Filsinger brings a refreshing set of arrangements to jazz tunes you know and some with interesting twists.
Genkin Philharmonic
On Friday, December 4th at 8 pm at Pausa Art House the Genkin Philharmonic returns for a repeat performance of their soul, funk, jazz, and classical music. Directed by Jon Nelson, the high-powered group explores the music of King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Radiohead, Captain Beefheart, Bela Bartok, and Led Zeppelin
The Mary McMahon Project
On Saturday, December 5th at 8pm at Pausa Art House, see The Mary McMahon Project with Bobby Jones on piano, Dave Schiavone on sax/flute, Bud Fadale on bass, Tom Kasperek on drums, and Tony Zambito on percussions present an evening of jazz standards and bossa nova. And, perhaps a jazz Christmas song or two!

Our enterprising young jazz musicians bringing energy to the JazzBuffalo scene are gathering at the Buffalo Church Of Christ on Saturday, December 5th beginning at 8 pm to host five bands: The Amanda Hughes Project, The Fredtown Stompers, The Hypnic Jerks, Jon Lehning Quartet feat. Lindsey Holland, and The Frontstreet Men
Christmas In The Village
Another of our young musicians, Steve Balesteri, will host his second annual Christmas In The Village concert at the Williamsville Meeting House on Sunday, December 6th at 6 pm. It will feature Steve’s band the Uptown Seven with strings and special guests vocalists Sharon Bailey and Cortney Costanzo. Tickets $20.
Jazz In Town
On Thursday, December 3rd beginning at 8:30 pm, The Hot Club Of Buffalo performs at the annual Victorian Christmas Party fundraiser held at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Historic Site. Tickets are $40-$45.
On Saturday, December 5th beginning at 1 pm, see the Jazzline Trio at Hot Mama’s Canteen
See solo guitarist Adam Bronstein at Merge on Saturday, December 5th at 7 pm.
On Wednesday, December 9th at 6:30 pm at Mezza for Wednesday Night Jazz, the fabulous vocalist Cindy Miller comes to town. If you missed her at 189 for the JazzBuffalo Sunday Jazz Series, don't miss her this time!

Look for a special event on December 13th at 189 Public House as part of the JazzBuffalo Sunday Jazz Series as we present the 3 Tenors. Phil DiRe, Dave Schiavone, and Bobby Militello on tenor saxophones along with George Caldwell on keyboards.
A Big Band Holiday takes place at the MusicalFare Cabaret Lounge on the weekend of December 12th. Featuring the Phil Sims Big Band with vocalist Katy Miner.
