Jazz In Town: Jazz Hits The Groove

From one week to the next, the availability of great jazz in Buffalo continues to grow.  As we close out the month of February, March will be no exception.

Highlights

Hard bop project poster.001Happening on Thursday, February 25th at 8 pm at Pausa Art House will be the debut of The Hard Bop Project.  The first adventure for the band will be The Hard Bop Project Plays The Music Of Lou Donaldson.   The band is a collaboration between Kelly Bucheger and Tony Zambito to introduce hard bop jazz and for this particular event, the infectious grooving music of Lou Donaldson.  The band will feature Kelly Bucheger on alto sax, Lisa Hasselback (2015 JazzBuffalo Poll winner for piano!) on piano, the legendary Sabu Adeyola on bass, Abdul-Rahman Qadir (who once played with Lou Donaldson!) on drums, and Tony Zambito on percussions.  It should be a very hip and grooving time!
