Spring is here and jazz is springing into action throughout the area. As we approach the Easter holiday, the spirit of rebirth and renewal can be found in the music of jazz.
Three Tenor Hang: Pausa Art House, Thursday, March 24th at 8 pm
This effort brings together a collection of tenor sax players and the group will consist of Ken Kuriscak, Nelson Rivera, Kelly Bucheger, tenor saxophones; George Caldwell, piano; Jack Kulp, bass; Alec Dube, drums. Led by Kelly Bucheger, it promises to be fresh and original as three tenors come together.
2nd Annual Jazzy Fish Friday, Friday, March 25th at 3 pm to 9 pm at the Historic Colored Musicians Club
Unique to the culture of Buffalo is the prominence of the Fish Fry throughout the Lenten season. At this event, the Al Ferguson Trio with special guest Bobby Militello and his Quartet will be performing. Bobby Militello Quartet is expected to perform from 3 pm to 6 pm. Here are details:

Sharon Bailey with Walter Kemp’s 3oh: Pausa Art House, Friday, March 25th at 8 pm
See and hear the dynamic vocalist Sharon Bailey in a return engagement at PausaArt House. The jazz, R&B, and blues singer will perform with Walter Kemp III on piano, Rishon Odel Northington on bass, and David “Teaspoon” Hulett on drums.
For Peace Quartet: Pausa Art House, Saturday, March 26th at 8 pm
Led by guitarist Rick Strauss, the quartet will feature Jeff Campbell on bass, Bobby Jones on piano, and Abdul-Rahman Qadir on drums. Since the 1970’s, Rick Strauss has been one of the top-flight guitarists, composers, and arrangers in the area with national and international credits.
Jazz In Town
The Hot Club will be performing on stage in the party tent! This is a huge event you don't want to miss! There will be pierogies, kielbasa, beer, a parade and lots of pussy willows and squirt guns. Plus some great music. Pussy Willow Park is near The Central Terminal.

A reminder that Wednesday Night Jazz happens weekly at Mezza beginning at 6:30 pm hosted by bassist Wayne Moose. On Wednesday, March 23rd see vocalist Mary Stahl with keyboardist Jim Calabrese.

On Friday, April 8th at Pausa Art House see and hear the special project entitled the Midnight Blue Experience. Led by the stellar guitarist George Kane, the effort will focus on the momentous album, Midnight Blue, by the legendary Kenny Burrell. With Dave Schiavone on sax, Wayne Moose on bass, Devin Kelly on drums, and Tony Zambito on percussions.
