The collection of jazz talent in the Greater Buffalo area is certainly one of the best compared to any of the medium-sized cities in America. It will be, once again, on display for audiences to enjoy.

Mark Filsinger’s Eleventet Ensemble, Friday, April 1st at 8 pm at MusicalFare Theatre Cabaret Lounge
One of the most entertaining jazz ensembles to hit the Greater Buffalo jazz scene in the past year has been Mark Filsinger’s Eleventet band. Winners of the 2015 JazzBuffalo poll for Best Big Band. JazzBuffalo and MusicalFare Theatre, in partnership, are pleased to present this outstanding collection of jazz talents to the Cabaret Lounge on Friday, April 1st at 8 pm.
Mark Filsinger has assembled a cast of some of the Greater Buffalo’s top jazz artists to create Eleventet. An ensemble with big band flavors that performs improvisational arrangements of jazz standards and classics. In addition, introducing original compositions highlighting the outstanding jazz artists making up the band.
The band includes such prominent jazz artists as: Bobby Militello on alto sax, Dave Schiavone on tenor sax, Ken Kurcziak on baritone sax, Dennis Tribuzzi on trumpet, Jim Bohm on trumpet, Mark Filsinger on trumpet, John Hasselback, Jr. on trombone, Rick Fleming on trombone, Bobby Jones on piano, Jim Colemon on bass, and Devin Kelly on drums. Only a handful of tickets remains – so act fast.
Blue Stone Groove, Friday, April 1st at 8pm at Pausa Art House
This young group features the dynamic vocalist Einat Agmon backed by David Pinchoff on keyboards, Ellen Perioni on sax, Anthony Henry on bass, Evan Kaderback, guitar, and Ryan Campbell on drums. Their sound is a jazz groove that incorporates jazz, blues, reggae, and soul for a lively performance.
Jazz In Town
A reminder that Wednesday Night Jazz happens weekly at Mezza beginning at 6:30 pm hosted by bassist Wayne Moose. This week (March 30th) see Tommy Paladino on keyboards, Ronnie Paladino, on sax, Wayne Moose on bass, and Dan Hull on drums

On Wednesday, March 30th is another Gypsy Jam hosted by Einat Agmon and Dave Pinchoff taking place at the Gypsy Parlor (Grant Street) beginning at 8 pm
On Friday, April 1st at 10 pm see the band Got A Match? at McGarrets with Jon Lehning – Saxophones, Adam Bronstein – Guitar, Harry Graser – Keyboard/Synth, Paul Yates – Bass, and Alec Dube – Drums
On Saturday, April 2nd at 7:30 pm at the Pizza Plant (Sheridan and Transit) you can see and hear My Cousin Tone' with Mary McMahon on vocals, Jim Matteliano on keyboards, Bill Basil on drums, Andy Peruzzini on trumpet, Tim Martin on sax, and guest Barry Boyd on bass.
On Wednesday, April 6th at 7:30 pm at Mason's Grille in Hamburg you can see Frank Gerard/Ray Chamberlain Quartet with vocalist Cheryl Ferris

On Friday, April 8th at Pausa Art House see and hear the special project entitled the Midnight Blue Experience. Led by the stellar guitarist George Kane, the effort will focus on the momentous album, Midnight Blue, by the legendary Kenny Burrell. With Dave Schiavone on sax, Wayne Moose on bass, Devin Kelly on drums, and Tony Zambito on percussions.
The JazzBuffalo / 189 Sunday Jazz Series will begin once again on Sunday, May 15th with none other than Phil DiRe and Friends once again kicking the year off. Put this on your calendar and note the start time now of 6pm. Stay tuned for more details.
