Annual Jazz And Pasta Fundraiser To Support Lewiston Jazz Festival Takes Place Sunday, April 24th

Jazz-Pasta-boardThis year will mark the 15th year of the annual Lewiston Jazz Festival.  The festival has become of one the most attended in the Greater Buffalo and Niagara region each summer.  The Lewiston Jazz Festival has showcased many of the local and regional jazz performers throughout the 15 years.  And, have included headliners such as Kurt Elling, Poncho Sanchez, Diane Schuur, and John Pizzarelli.

As we all know, festivals just do not happen without support.  This free festival is largely dependent upon donations, sponsorships, and their signature Jazz & Pasta Fundraiser held annually.  According to Chairperson Carol Calato, it takes approximately $150,000 to hold the two-day music events.

The Jazz & Pasta Fundraiser will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. April 24 at Water Street Landing in Lewiston. The afternoon consists of food donated by Lewiston restaurants, which delivers specialty pasta and other sumptuous foods.   In addition, there are silent auctions, basket auctions and a 50/50 raffle.  

The event also marks the occasion when the headliners for the upcoming 2016 Lewiston Jazz Festival will be announced.  

The Jazz & Pasta Fundraiser enters its 10th year.  A highlight of the fundraiser is the mix of young and veteran jazz artists who donate their time and talents to the event.  This year's jazz performers include:

Each year, the event is a gathering of a few hundred people enjoying the best of foods from Lewiston, mingling with passionate fans of jazz and the community, and being entertained by jazz music.


The festival, scheduled for Aug. 26 and 27 this year, brought in over 40,000 people last year. There will be about 30 vendors set up along Center Street and five performance stages for live jazz performances. For more information, visit www.lewistonjazz.com or call 754-9500.
