JazzBuffalo / 189 Public House Sunday Jazz Series Presents On July 17: Got A Match?

Got a matchThe next scheduled performance for the JazzBuffalo / 189 Public House Sunday Jazz Series features some of our brightest rising stars in the JazzBuffalo community.  Led by saxophonist Jon Lehning, the series presents Got A Match?, a band focused on the music of Chick Corea’s Electrik Band.

In the Sunday Jazz Series, July is the month dedicated to featuring the youth in our jazz scene.  Jon Lehning, a graduate student and teacher at UB, is one of our most enterprising jazz artists.  Working on a variety of jazz projects throughout the area.  Joining Lehning will be:

Harry Graser on piano.  Harry is a prolific pianist with talented versatility and abilities.  Playing in many of the up and coming jazz/funk/fusion bands in the area, Harry is fast becoming one of the area’s best jazz pianists.

Adam Bronstein on guitar.  Adam is the leader of his own band, Freehand, and is a dynamic guitarist cutting across lines of jazz, funk, fusion, soul, and more. (Also a prolific graphic designer – check out the poster!)

Paul Yates on bass.  Paul on electric bass can be seen in the area in multiple jazz, R&B, soul, and fusion endeavors.  Providing strong bass lines in any genre with gifted techniques.

Alec Dube on drums.  Alec is a drummer, as well as, a stellar vibraphonist.  Performing as a leader and sideman in several bands, including his latest modern jazz project Critical Mass.  He is on the faculty at SUNY Fredonia and teaches at Villa Maria also.

This is an opportunity to catch rising stars blazing new trails in the community effort to keep jazz alive in WNY.  For Electrik Chick Corea fans, you will not want to miss this brand of jazz fusion.

Make plans to come out to 189 Public House in East Aurora on Sunday, July 17th for not only the great music but also for a great menu and home-grown drinks.  Many thanks to Clark Crook and the staff at 189 Public House for their support of the Sunday Jazz Series.
