For this JazzBuffalo / 189 Public House Sunday Jazz Series event, we bring in The Devin Kelly Organ Trio. The group will feature three world-class performers in Devin Kelly on drums, Dino Losito on Hammond organ, and Gary Solt. Each has performed with some of the biggest names in jazz, such as Clark Terry, Frank Foster, Houston Pearson, Wallace Roney, Harold Allen, and more. The Music Of Cole Porter with the Phil sims Cabaret Big Band featuring Katy Miner, Saturday, August 20th at 4 pm and 8 pm at MusicalFare Theatre Premier Cabaret Lounge
This tribute to one of America’s greatest composers will feature the Phil Sims Cabaret Big Band with vocals performed by Katy Miner. The band will consist of some of the best jazz artists in the area and are – Saxes: Russ D'Alba, Ken Kuriscak, Harry Fackelman; Brass: Tim Clarke, Phil Sims; Piano: Lisa Hasselback; Bass: Paul Zapalowski, and Drums: Tom Kasperek. These shows sell out fast and if you are one of the lucky ones to get a reserved seat, you will enjoy the Cole Porter Songbook featuring such songs as Anything goes, Night and Day, I Get A Kick Out Of You, and more.
The George Scott Big Band, Wednesday, August 17th at 6:00 pm at the Buffalo Central Terminal
The Buffalo Terminal once again plays host to a band from the Historic Colored Musicians Club. See the George Scoot Big Band in the art deco décor of the Buffalo Central Terminal. The band features superb musicians who rehearse regularly at the club and also you will be able to enjoy vocalist Melissa Kate.

On Wednesday, August 17th at 7 pm at GiGi’s, singer and Buffalo native Mike Costley, from the LA/Palm Springs area makes an appearance while visiting home in Buffalo.
On Thursday, August 18th see another performance from Star People: The Miles Davis Project at Pausa Art House at 8 pm. This ongoing tribute and retrospective on the music of Miles Davis feature George Caldwell on piano and as band leader into the exploration of the Miles Davis repertoire.
On Thursday, August 18th at 9 pm at the Lockhouse Distillery, catch the Fronstreet Men serve up the jazz-organ sound as part of the post-Canalside After Party
On Friday, August 19th at 6 pm at Wegman's on Amherst Street see the trio Dave Scott on guitar, Bud Fadale on bass, and Abdul-Rahman Qadir on drums
On Friday, August 19th beginning at 10 pm at Nietzsche’s, you can catch Toney Rhodes Buffalo Spell on the main stage and Adam Bronstein’s Freehand Band up front. Rhodes is an energetic blend of jazz/soul/ funk and Freehand gives you the same with an edge.
On Saturday, August 20th at Hot Mama’s Canteen beginning at 1 pm you can see the DMW Experience for Beats and Brunch followed by Ann Philippone at 5 pm.

A reminder that the Joe Baudo Big Band performs every Tuesday at the Sportsmen Tavern from 12 pm to 2 pm. And, the Joe Baudo Organ-based group performs on Wednesday between 12 pm and 2 pm.
Don’t forget the Historic Colored Musicians Club has open rehearsals on Mondays with George Scott Big Band and on Thursdays with the Charles McLaughlin Big Band. Sundays typically have a performance at 6 pm followed by jazz jam at 7 pm.
On Saturday, August 27th for two shows at 4 pm and 8 pm, see the return of jazz vocalist Paul Marinaro, who played to sold-out shows last year, to the MusicalFare Theatre Premier Cabaret Lounge. He will be joined by Chicago-based jazz pianist Chris White, bassist Danny Ziemann, and drummer John Bacon, Jr.
On Saturday, Septemeber 10th at 11:30 am, the Hollow Bistro / JazzBuffalo Saturday Jazz Brunch takes place once again. The brunch will feature the stellar duo of Jim Bohm on trumpet and Dave Calire on keyboards and vocals. The Clarence native Jim Bohm and Dave Calire are sure to entertain! Make sure to get your reservation in!
The JazzBuffalo / 189 Public House Sunday Jazz Series continues through December. Look for Winelight, Midnight Blue Experience, The Hot Club of Buffalo, and Janice Mitchell / Jim Beishline and Friends to be making appearances in the series this year.
Across the border in Canada in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Harry's Jazz Bar will be hosting Juno award winning vocalist Liberty Silver on Saturday, September 10th with ticket prices $30/$40/VIP $60.
It is with great excitement to announce a new jazz series, which will bring jazz back to the theatre district of downtown Buffalo. JazzBuffalo and Road Less Travel Productions will partner to present a fall and spring jazz series to take place on seven Wednesday evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm this fall. And, in the spring time of next year. The jazz series will be held in the historic ornate lobby of the theatre RLTP calls home on 500 Pearl Street near Tupper. Tickets, at the nominal charge of $10, will soon be available on the RLTP website or at the door.
