Jazz In Town: Ring In The New Year!

The final week of 2016 ends.  But, we will not lose fond memories of a fantastic year for jazz in Greater Buffalo.  New Year’s celebrations will take place and for many of us, we look ahead to more stellar jazz in 2017.

Ring in the New Year

The Phil Sims Jazz Quartet with Katy Miner, Saturday, December 31st at 8:30 pm at the Roycroft inn

Katy minerPhil Sims will be back in town for the New Years and the group will feature Katy Miner on vocals to help bring in the new year.  Joining in will be Phil Sims on trombone, Lisa Hasselback on piano, Jack Kulp on bass, and Dan Hull on drums. 

 

 

French ConeXion, Saturday, December 31st at 8 pm at Merge

French conexionMerge will have a fixed menu dinner special and providing the music up until 11 pm will be a new inventive group calling themselves the French ConeXion.  The group features Bernard Kunz on guitar, Jeremy Spindler on accordion, and Marc Cousins on bass.  Hear a unique blend of jazz standards, Brazilian, musette, and other forms of inventive approaches.  Call for reservations. (Look for the French at The Meeting House on January 10th also!)

Bobby Militello Quartet, Saturday, December 31st at 5 pm and 8 pm at Gigi’s

Bobby-Militello-QuartetGigi’s will be doing two seatings for their New Year’s Eve special dinner menu.  Providing the entertainment and ringing in the new year will the Bobby Militello Quartet with Bobby Jones, Jim Colemon, and John Bacon, Jr.  Call for reservations.

Beginning in 2017, we will list the ongoing jazz on the JazzBuffalo website to help free up space in the weekly Jazz In Town.

Mj tribute at MFTickets are now available for the January 20th JazzBuffalo presentation of A Jazz Tribute To Michael Jackson that will feature musical direction by Mark Marinaccio.  JazzBuffalo is especially excited to produce and present this one-of-a-kind performance featuring Mark Marinaccio and stellar musicians, in partnership with MusicalFare Theatre.  Do not delay, call to reserve your seats soon!!!
