Bobby Militello Quartet, Thursday, January 12th at 8 pm at Pausa Art House
A good way to start out the year is to hit Pausa and see the 2016 JazzBuffalo Poll 3-categories winner, John Bacon, Jr. John received the most ballots from the community for Jazz Drums of the Year, University Educator of the Year, and the prestigious John Hunt Jazz Artist of the Year. The second year in row John has received this award. You will see the Jazz Group of the Year, the Bobby Militello Group and Bobby was also the winner in the categories of Jazz Alto Sax of the Year and Jazz Accompaniment of the Year for flute. The group will also feature 2016 JazzBuffalo Poll runner-up in jazz piano, Bobby Jones, along with jazz bass nominee Jim Colemon.
Carina and the Six String Preacher, Saturday, January 14th at 8 pm at Pausa Art House
This group features dynamic originals in the Les Paul and Mary Ford tradition but with a coating of Indie sounds. Creative lyrics, arrangements, and techniques give this band a very cool contemporary sound. The band features Carina Mastrantonio on vocals, Vincent Mastrantonio on guitar, and John Brady on drums. The band was nominated in the 2016 JazzBuffalo Poll along with Carina for female vocalist and Vincent for jazz guitar.
Jazz In Town
On Friday, January 13, a performance will take place at MusicalFare Cabaret Lounge that will feature a focus on the musical compositions of Harold Arlen. Performing will be Mark Filsinger, Bobby Militello, Brendan Lanighan, George Caldwell, Jim Colemon, and John Bacon, Jr.
On Wednesday, January 18 at 7 pm at Pausa Art House check out the Jazz Cache with Ben Levitt on bass, Jared Tinkham on guitar (our 2015 JazzBuffalo Poll jazz guitar winner), and David Phillips.

On January 20th JazzBuffalo presents A Jazz Tribute To Michael Jackson that will feature musical direction by Mark Marinaccio. JazzBuffalo is especially excited to produce and present this one-of-a-kind performance featuring Mark Marinaccio and stellar musicians, in partnership with MusicalFare Theatre. Set your calendars for Friday, January 27th at Pausa Art House for the return of Sky Dive: Freddie Hubbard CTI Years. If you missed the previous event, you will not want to miss this unique JazzBuffalo presentation of the inventive music created by Freddie Hubbard during his 1970’s CTI years.
Pausa Art House will feature upcoming performances by John Bacon Jr. and Jazz Current, Cerebral People, a tribute to the Modern Jazz Quartet, the Walt Sopicki Rust Belt Trio, and Star People.
