JazzBuffalo Presents A Jazz Tribute To Michael Jackson, Friday, January 20th at MusicalFare Theatre
This special production will feature the dynamic composer, arranger, vocalist, and pianist Mark Marinaccio lead a gifted group of musicians (Tom Marinaro, Ken Witman, Tim Martin, Tim Clarke, Geraldo Castillo, Preston Brown, Paul Yates, and Mariah Pizarro) who will introduce unique jazz arrangements of the magical years when Michael Jackson collaborated with jazz legend Quincy Jones. John Bacon, Jr. And Jazz Current Thursday, January 19th at 7 pm at Pausa Art House
This John Bacon, Jr. led group of rising stars in jazz will feature unique arrangements from pop stars like David Bowie to original compositions by John Bacon, Jr. See 2015 and 2016 JazzBuffalo Poll winners and nominees Brian Tervo, Alec Dube, Jared Tinkham, Danny Ziemann, and Alec McArthur.
Walt Sopicki’s Rust Belt Trio. Saturday, January 21st at 8 pm at Pausa Art House
Walt Sopicki is one of the area’s finest guitarist with a groove sound. See this trio featuring Walt Sopicki on guitar, Ron Peterson on the Hammond B3 organ, and Abdul Rahman Qadir on drums. For guitar and organ groove enthusiast.
Jazz In Town
On Thursday, January 19 at 9 pm at Nietzsche’s see the Frontstreet Men with a talented trio of David Pinchoff on organ, Ian Adelstein on guitar, and Stephen Lattimore on drums.
On Friday, January 20 at 8 pm at Pausa Art House catch Joe Goehle's Cerebral People project for adventurous original music in the avant-garde free jazz idiom. With Joseph Goehle, Mark Filsinger, Kelly Bucheger, Alec Dube, and John Bacon.

Set your calendars for Friday, January 27th at Pausa Art House for the return of Sky Dive: Freddie Hubbard CTI Years. If you missed the previous event, you will not want to miss this unique JazzBuffalo presentation of the inventive music created by Freddie Hubbard during his 1970’s CTI years.
There will be a special JazzBuffalo and 189 Sunday Jazz Series event taking place on Sunday, January 29th at 6 pm. The no playoff game and a week before the Super Bowl. Featured will be Walt Sopicki's Rust Belt Trio for an organ jazz time with no cover, good food, and drinks.
Guitarist Mary Halvorson makes an appearance at the next Art of Jazz Series event at the AKG on Sunday, January 29th at 3 pm. Halvorson has gained much attention in the free and improvisational jazz world after having studied with free jazz master Anthony Braxton. Visit the AKG website for tickets.

This coming April will be another year of Jazz Appreciation Month and International Jazz Day. JazzBuffalo will be partnering with Pausa Art House to host a series of 5 Saturday concerts in April to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month. Stay tuned for more details!
