The weather was hot and muggy. Nevertheless, that did not stop a thriving audience at the JazzBrunch Sundays at Terrace at Delaware Park from enjoying the superlative musicianship of one of today’s jazz sax masters, Jerry Weldon. Weldon picked up right where he left off the night before at Pausa Art House – as part of the Jerry Weldon “Back-to-Back” weekend.
The JazzBrunch gathering brought out friends and an appreciative audience who also enjoyed the delicious brunch menu foods. Carmen Intorre, Jr was as impressive as ever and once again made the community proud of this Buffalo native son doing great works in jazz. Dino Losito elicited rounds of applause as he took command with grooving solos.
Weldon’s sax sound traveled clear across Hoyt Lake to the enjoyment of everyone in the Marcy Casino area. Let us hope Jerry Weldon makes it back to Buffalo soon and for another “Back-to-Back” weekend filled with his tenor madness.
