Jazz In Town: 2 Events Add To A Great Start In 2019

While attending the Jazz Congress in New York City at the Jazz At Lincoln Center, I met many jazz artists and presenters from all over the world.  And, had the opportunity to listen to amazing panel discussions in two days.  The assembly of people dedicated to the art form is inspiring.   Buffalo is certainly gaining awareness for its resurging and thriving jazz scene.   More to come…

For featured events, we have a visit from ex-pat Matt Michaud.  A tremendously gifted jazz guitarist.  This weekend, the dynamic vocalist DeeAnn Dimeo Tompkins releases her “Stay Here” EP produced by Rishon Odel Northington, which features a collection of heartfelt songs.

The 5th Annual JazzBuffalo Poll will be published for public voting beginning this weekend!  During the past 3 weeks, we’ve collected nominations and will present the most extensive version of the JazzBuffalo Poll yet!  The 5th Annual JazzBuffalo Awards will be announced on Wednesday, February 6 at the Hotel Henry Jazz Concert Series, which will feature Wendell Rivera’s Latin Jazz Band.
