Laila Biali, Robi Botos, and Andy Milne Win 2019 Juno Awards In Jazz Categories

The 2019 Juno Awards winners in the jazz categories were announced at the annual Juno Gala Awards presentation on Saturday, March 16, 2019.  Including the three-primary jazz categories.  Winners announced included Laila Biali, Robi Botos, and Andy Milne.

Laila Biali

Laila Biali took home the award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for her self-titled album, Liali Biali.  Nominees in this category included Diana Krall, Holly Cole, Diana Panton, and Jodi Proznick.

Robi Botos “Old Soul”

Robi Botos was named the winner for the Jazz Album of the Year: Solo for his recent album, Old Soul.  The category nominees included Rene Rosnes, Alexis Baro, Alison Young, and Larnell Lewis.

Andy Milne

Andy Milne & Dapp Theory received the award for Jazz Album of the Year: Group for their album, The Seasons of Being.  Nominees included Allison Au Quartet, Andrew Rathbun Large Ensemble, Liebman/Murley Quartet, and Quinsin Nachoff’s FLUX.
