Kamasi Washington, the noted jazz saxophonist, composer, and arranger will be embarking on a tour at the beginning of 2020. The tour has Washington visiting Buffalo on Sunday, March 1st for an appearance at Ashbury Hall in Babeville.
Having toured recently with Herbie Hancock and recently appearing in Toronto, this marks a rare concert for the highly acclaimed jazz artist in Buffalo. His tour will take him to the Northeast, Midwest, and the Southwest. Cities include, Buffalo, Boston, Brooklyn, Detroit, Omaha, and San Antonio.

Since the release of his epochal album, The Epic, in 2015, Kamasi Washington has been a generational bridge to jazz. Fusing music from classical, hip-hop, and R&B into sweeping compositions and arrangements. He followed up The Epic with the album Heaven and Earth. Both albums have been mentioned in many “best of” lists and have reshaped the accessibility of jazz across multi-generations.
