Hotel Henry, located on the historic National Landmark Richardson Olmsted Campus, has teamed with JazzBuffalo to once again present the Hotel Henry’s Jazz Concert Series in 2020. The overwhelming success of the concert series has enabled audiences to experience the newly-renovated urban resort while enjoying high-quality live jazz performances. The series will enter its fourth season and promises to present high-quality and diverse music productions.
Hotel Henry’s Jazz Concert Series, produced by JazzBuffalo, will present uniquely themed jazz concerts and offer more diversity. Presenting local and international award-winning jazz artists in a variety of styles of jazz. The jazz concert series will also provide audiences with the opportunity to experience live jazz in Buffalo’s innovative urban resort conference center hotel.
Since its opening in April 2017, the Hotel Henry has established itself as one of Buffalo’s newest and iconic cultural assets. Welcoming the community to experience the stunning transformation from an 1870 built asylum to an elegant hotel. Additionally, named by the New York Times as one of the country’s uniquely great destination hotels.
The Hotel Henry will offer a 10% discount to concert-goers for dinner at the 100 Acres Kitchens Restaurant.
In 2020, the series will begin with smooth jazz artist Kevin Hall and Hall’s release of a new EP single. To be followed by a tribute to Duke Ellington by Buffalo’s premier Ladies First Jazz Big Band with vocalist Donna Delano-Kerr and a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald by one of the region’s most notable vocalists in musical theatre and jazz, Katy Miner. JazzBuffalo will also introduce to the community a revival of the WNY Big Band that will feature a collective of some of the area’s top jazz musicians.
In June, the series will welcome Buffalo native, saxophonist Jeff Hackworth. Hackworth has been recognized as one of the top saxophonists in the New York City jazz scene in the country with several releases of acclaimed CDs.
