The return of outdoor jazz has been an uplifting experience for audiences, patio patrons, venues, and musicians. Especially after a harrowing few months of shelter-at-home lockdown. We must not forget, however, that we are all still in the midst of a serious pandemic. Diligently, we must do our part to contain and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
It is a challenging road back to providing local live jazz for all of us to enjoy within social distance guidelines. Challenging for venues, musicians, sound engineers, and organizers such as JazzBuffalo. Fewer capacity guidelines, three months of no income, additional costs associated with guidelines, and other related costs have all had an impact. Nevertheless, we have been able to organize three outdoor local jazz series: Jazz at Chandlerville, Hotel Henry Summer Jazz Series, and Summer JazzMondays at Tappo Restaurant Rooftop Patio. We hope for more down the road as well.
To help with the costs for set up, sound, and musicians, we have created a novel and contact-less way for you to contribute a small amount. To support local jazz series JazzBuffalo is presenting, we are making available the ability to contribute to the Keep Local Jazz Alive Fund. The fund will help to cover the costs of the free summer outdoor live jazz presented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you plan to attend any of the series and only if you can, will you consider a small suggested contribution of $5 to help us make local live jazz possible? You can contribute via PayPal or Venmo:
We thank you for considering, hope you will enjoy local live jazz music, and appreciate your continuing support for the American Art form we treasure – jazz!
