First, all of us involved in making jazz available outdoors implore everyone to follow guidelines such as wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart, and respecting social distancing. It is only through these efforts we can continue and not suffer a set back during the midst of a pandemic. So far so good. Many thanks to all who exercised following the guidelines.
This week, we continue enjoying jazz outdoors. Hot summer jazz is getting into full swing. Let us hope for good weather each week as well! And, most importantly, stay hydrated and take in a breeze to cool down.

Elliot Scozzaro is a saxophonist and educator from Buffalo. He received a Master of Music in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas, where he played lead alto saxophone in the seven-time Grammy-nominated One O’ Clock Lab Band. While at UNT, Scozzaro also served as a Teaching Fellow of Saxophone, directed the Five O’ Clock Lab Band, and studied under the notable Brad Leali. To support the jazz series mentioned above and other local series JazzBuffalo is presenting, we are making available the ability to contribute to the Keep Local Jazz Alive Fund. The fund will help cover the costs of producing the free summer outdoor live jazz presented during the COVID-19 pandemic. Costs like set up, sound engineering, and artists that struggling venues find challenging at this time.
