Chick Corea, Christian McBride, Eliane Elias, Esperanza Spalding, and Ron Carter Win In 64th GRAMMY® Awards Jazz Categories

The 64th GRAMMY® Awards announced the 2022 winners in the Jazz categories.  The winners were announced prior to the televised event scheduled for Sunday, April 3rd.

Nominations were announced in November 2021 and winners were revealed today.

Here are the winners in each of the Jazz and Instrumental categories followed by songs/videos:

1 – From the field of nominations in the Best Improvised Solo category, the winner is:

  • Humpty Dumpty (Set 2) – WINNER
    Chick Corea, soloist

2 – In the category of Best Jazz Vocal Album, the winner is:

  • Songwrights Apothecary Lab – WINNER
    Esperanza Spalding

3 – For Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, the winner is:

  • For Jimmy, Wes And Oliver – WINNER
    Christian McBride Big Band

4 – For Best Instrumental Jazz Album, the winner is:

  • Skyline – WINNER
    Ron Carter, Jack DeJohnette & Gonzalo Rubalcaba

5 – The Best Latin Jazz Album category was won by:

  • Mirror Mirror – WINNER
    Eliane Elias With Chick Corea and Chucho Valdés

6 – For Best Instrumental Composition, the winner is:

  • Eberhard – WINNER
    Lyle Mays, composer (Lyle Mays)

7 – For Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella, the winner is:
