Buffalo Jazz Festival at Seneca One Labor Day Weekend

JazzBuffalo is teaming up with Seneca One to bring to the community a Labor Day Weekend Buffalo Jazz Fest!  For the past two years, JazzBuffalo has been bringing live music to the West Plaza of the Seneca One Tower. On Sunday, September 4th we will bring to you live music throughout the afternoon, food trucks, refreshments, and a family-friendly atmosphere! Tony Zambito, Founder and Executive Director of JazzBuffalo shares not only his excitement about the event but also his appreciation of the partnership with Seneca One,

“We’re trying to bring our diverse communities together through a joint effort like this. What we came up with this year is to end our summer use of the West Plaza with a real celebration of Buffalo – it’s just another way to enrich the community through the use of that space that’s been a very key part of bringing people back downtown.”

Hear music from the likes of New York City saxophonist John Troy and his quintet, the jazz organ quartet Trigger and the Sermon, West Coast jazz guitarist Dave Hill and his group, and special guest – The Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble.

12 noon – 1:15 pm: The John Troy Quintet

1:45 pm – 3:00 pm: Trigger & the Sermon

3:30 pm – 4:45 pm: The Dave Hill Group

5:15 pm – 6:30 pm: Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble

During the changeovers to the next band, we’ll have solo or duo jazz music provided by some of Buffalo’s fabulously talented next-generation of jazz musicians:

1:15 pm – 1:45 pm  –  Kevin Hall

3:00 pm – 3:30 pm  –  Ed Croft and Jared Tinkham

4:45 pm – 5:15 pm  –  Saranaide

“What really gets me excited about it is that I have felt for a very long time that Buffalo needs to join the ranks of other cities that have a city-defined jazz festival.  Especially during Labor Day Weekend.  We’ve seen through the growth of JazzBuffalo in the last seven years that the identity of Buffalo as a city with a rich history of jazz needs to be celebrated,” shares Zambito.

The event is happening on September 4th from noon until 6:30 pm. The team is also encouraging goers to bring lawn chairs to ensure the most comfortable experience. For any additional information visit https://jazzbuffalo.org/buffalo-jazz-festival/
