We begin the new year, 2023, with renewed hope. The year 2023 will mark the first full year of a true post-pandemic world. We look forward to more exciting developments in the jazz scene and the overall music scene for Buffalo.
After a year of a steady stream of tragedies in 2022, we can hope and pray that this will not be the case in 2023. Our prayers are with Damar Hamlin for a full recovery and for the five children and their families who perished in a fire this past week.
In Bill O’Connell’s superb album “A Change Is Gonna Come” (one of our 25 favorite albums in 2022), the song that is apropos for our city is “Enough is Enough.” Yes, enough is enough.

Art of Jazz: Elio Villafranca & The Chick Corea Afro-Caribbean Experience
Our next Art of Jazz Series concert will feature a specially commissioned project by the Jazz at Lincoln Center. This is a unique opportunity for our city to experience an all-star ensemble paying homage to one of the greatest in jazz, Chick Corea. Thank You To The Terrace at Delaware Park! Closed For January
One of our treasured JazzBuffalo partnerships enriching our cultural quality of life in Buffalo is that with the Terrace at Delaware Park. Another fantastic year of the longest-running Sunday Jazz Brunch in the area plus weekends of Piano & Cocktail music at the piano. Many thanks to Jason Davidson and the staff for their support! The Terrace will be closed for the month of January to take a much-needed break and to prepare for the new year. We will keep you posted on when they will reopen in early February and when JazzBrunch Sundays will start up again! Thank you for your support!
