The parade of fabulous jazz artists visiting Buffalo continues. After perhaps the most important alto saxophonist in jazz today, Miguel Zenón, performed an incredible concert, we get a visit from one of the rising star jazz guitarists receiving much-deserved acclaim from his latest album, Charlie Ballantine.
JazzBuffalo Pick
In this week’s JazzBuffalo Pick, we turn the spotlight on the highly acclaimed and rising star jazz guitarist Charlie Ballantine. Ballantine brings his dynamic trio to Buffalo featuring bassist Jesse Whitman and drummer Richard “Sleepy” Floyd. In this much-anticipated return visit, Charlie will perform music from his latest album, “Falling Grace,” which has received international recognition.
A Review of Falling Grace:
“This may be my favorite jazz album of 2022 (and I bought a lot)! Ballantine is a master guitarist who knows how to tell a story with his songs. His playing is precise, inventive, emotional, and stunning. While you’re at it, get all of his albums! Ballantine is an extraordinary player we’ll be hearing from a lot more in the future...” – Critic Robert Middleton
Through support from the JazzBuffalo’s Keep Jazz Alive Fund, we are making the concert available for only $10 and no fee! Please support and get tickets at this link with the promo code built-in:
