April 1st will mark the beginning of the annual April Is Jazz Appreciation Month established by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in 2001 to celebrate the extraordinary heritage of jazz. We are going to start off JAM as it is fondly known with a brass bang as we welcome the Grammy® Nominated Dan Pugach Nonet to Buffalo on Sunday, April 2nd.

In this week’s JazzBuffalo Picks, we are fortunate to be hosting the Grammy® Nominated Dan Pugach Nonet this Sunday, April 2 at 3:30 pm at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center in the Cinema Room. The Dan Pugach Nonet is known for its innovative and exciting arrangements of both original compositions and classic jazz standards. A chance to see and hear a nine-piece band present fabulous large jazz ensemble music in an intimate setting.

Early Announcement! Jazz at The Richardson and The Buffalo Jazz Festival!
We are very excited to be teaming up with the Richardson Hotel and the Douglas Development Corporation to bring back jazz to the South Lawn of Richardson Olmsted Park! We will have two dates, Sunday, July 9, and Sunday, August 6 of jazz performances facing the South Lawn – in the afternoon. And, we are moving the Buffalo Jazz Festival, Scheduled for Sunday, September 3rd during Labor Day Weekend to the South Lawn of the Richardson Olmsted Park.
