Exciting 2nd Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival Promises Unforgettable Performances and Community Engagement

A Jazz-Filled Day For The Community to Enjoy!

The anticipation is building as jazz enthusiasts and the local community prepare to gather for the highly anticipated 2nd Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival. The festival is set to feature a lineup of five exciting jazz performances. After an immensely successful inaugural year, the festival is relocating to the Richardson-Olmsted Campus’ South Lawn, a move aimed at accommodating larger audiences and creating a unique experience for all attendees.

Presented by JazzBuffalo, the festival receives generous support from its sponsors: Douglas Development Corporation, Richardson Hotel Buffalo, and the Richardson-Olmsted Campus. Buffalo Rising, serves as a media sponsor for the event.

Following the enthusiastic reception of the Jazz at Richardson events earlier this summer, the festival remains committed to being free and accessible to the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, gather with friends and family, and immerse themselves in a day of uniting our community and enjoying the exceptional jazz performances at the breathtaking cultural landmark.  There will also be opportunities to purchase food and refreshments provided by food trucks and the Richardson Hotel.

The festival presents an impressive lineup of jazz groups and musicians, showcasing the rich next-generation talent in Buffalo and the region. The schedule is as follows:

1:00 pm: The Jay/Sharptet will delight the audience with their mesmerizing original compositions and pay homage to the legendary Chet Baker.

2:20 pm: The sensational Lindsey Holland Quintet returns, showcasing their contemporary and captivating sound.

3:40 pm: Donny Frauenhofer Music, the JazzBuffalo Poll winner for Jazz Fusion, leads an outstanding ensemble in a tribute to the iconic Herbie Hancock.

5:00 pm: Get ready to dance to the vibrant rhythms of the Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble once again.

6:20 pm: The festival is thrilled to welcome NYC-based saxophonist Mike Troy, joining forces with his brother John Aaron Troy to lead the Troy Brothers Organ Quintet. Prepare for an unforgettable performance!

The festival welcomes donations to support this year’s event and contribute to its continued growth.
