A Heartwarming Celebration Showcases Community Impact
Congratulations to Matt’s Music School on achieving its 60th anniversary! It was a heartwarming and beautiful afternoon of celebration at the Historic Palace Theatre Lockport, showcasing all the school’s services that significantly benefit the community of North Tonawanda and beyond.
I felt honored to be invited to share a few remarks, representing both the Northwest Jazz Festival, Lewiston, NY, and JazzBuffalo.
My comments focused on the idea that “People and Talent are Empowered by Belief.” Matt’s Music goes beyond being just a music school; it serves as a platform of belief in our community. It provides our youth with a means to believe in themselves and empowers them to let their unique talents flourish. Witnessing, through the direction of Zach Carr, Matt’s Music Vocal Performance Team bloom each year at the festival has been an immense joy.
The afternoon included wonderful remarks from alum MaryAlice Demler and Aaron Mentkowski WKBW as emcee.
Congratulations to the Carr Family, Matt’s Music Inc., and “Mr. Matt” for 60 years of dedication to the community!
(A particularly special moment for me was experiencing the power of Music Therapy and witnessing how it instilled belief in a young lady, Kristen Maggio. She rewrote the lyrics of “Let It Be” by the Beatles and delivered a beautiful and moving performance.)
“Let It Be Love.”
