The Northwest Bank Main Stage Celebration of the Great American Songbook is scheduled for Friday, August 23rd, and Saturday, August 24th.

Konrad Paszkudzki is a talented jazz pianist from Australia who has made a significant impact in the jazz world. Known for his smooth and sophisticated playing style, Konrad began learning the piano at a young age. His early training in classical music provided him with a strong foundation before he transitioned into jazz.

After moving to the United States, Konrad’s career quickly took off. He became the pianist for the renowned jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli, adding a special touch to the group’s music. His ability to blend classical techniques with jazz styles made him a favorite among many top jazz musicians.

In addition to playing with Pizzarelli, Konrad has performed with other acclaimed artists such as Harry Allen, Eric Alexander, and Ken Peplowski. His versatility and skill are evident in his performances and recordings, which showcase his ability to adapt to different jazz styles while maintaining his unique piano sound.

Konrad also serves as the Artistic Director for Jazz at the Ballroom, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Great American Songbook. This role allows him to curate concerts that highlight classic American jazz standards. Under his leadership, Jazz at the Ballroom has performed at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center, Birdland in New York City, and other prominent performing arts centers nationwide. These performances have featured top musicians and renowned vocalists celebrating the rich history of jazz.

In collaboration with Tony Zambito and the Northwest Jazz Festival in Lewiston, NY, Konrad is organizing three special programs to celebrate the Great American Songbook – “Get Out of Town,” “Flying High,” and “Accentuate the Positive.” The programs demonstrate Konrad’s dedication to creating concerts that are not just musical performances but also a journey through the history of American jazz.

His commitment to preserving classic jazz and American jazz standards, make him a key figure in today’s jazz world.
