One of our favorite JazzBuffalo events of 2023 was “A Charlie Brown Chrismas” at Seneca One. JazzBuffalo requested that the Croft, Wasik, and Docenko trio perform “A Charlie Brown Valentine” in February. Here is the combined result by the trio – giving us the music from the catalog of Vince Guaraldi. A fantastic effort by Ed Croft, David Wasik, and Ivan Docenko!

We are excited to share this special announcement exclusively with our JazzBuffalo Community subscribers. For many, this is a long-awaited update, rekindling fond memories of the Hotel Henry Jazz Concert Series. We are pleased to announce that we will be collaborating with the Richardson Hotel and the Douglas Development Corporation to further our Jazz at Richardson initiatives, both outdoors and indoors.

Our shared goal is to establish Jazz at Richardson as a central hub for jazz in Buffalo, creating a vibrant community space dedicated to the appreciation and growth of jazz music and a vibrant jazz community.

Stay tuned for more details as we work towards making this vision a reality!

In the meantime, Save the Date for two pre-fall concerts you will not want to miss as we return indoors!

Friday, August 16 at 7:30 pm we will welcome the renowned jazz vocalist Nancy Kelly to Jazz at Richardson inside the Richardson Hotel in a special “pre-fall” preview concert. Nancy will be joined by saxophonist Jerry Weldon (Harry Connick, Jr.), organist Dino Losito, and drummer Carmen Intorre, Jr. (Pat Martino). Over her 40-plus-year career, she has perfected her signature swing/bop take no prisoner’s back to the roots swinging style in front of audiences all over the U.S.A. and abroad.

Friday, September 13 at 7:30 pm we will welcome acclaimed New York City-based jazz vocalist Marianne Solivan. She’ll be joined by her quartet celebrating their newest album release – RE-ENTRY. Solivan has made a name for herself as a hard-swinging, passionate, vocalist who has a commanding stage presence and is able to captivate audiences with her joyous exuberance and wit. Having performed and recorded with the likes of Christian Mcbride, Peter Bernstein, Jeremy Pelt, and Lewis Nash, Solivan has been consistently raising the bar for singers of her generation.
