But what is the Great American Songbook? It is a cherished collection of America’s most influential popular songs and jazz standards from the early to mid-20th century. Composed by legends such as George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin, these songs have become timeless classics, shaping the landscape of American music and continuing to inspire generations. Imagine experiencing live performances of songs like “Summertime” and “Someone to Watch Over Me” by the Gershwins, “Night and Day” and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” by Cole Porter, and “Cheek to Cheek” and “Blue Skies” by Irving Berlin.

In addition to Saturday’s festivities, attendees can look forward to a special performance on Friday, August 23rd. Pete Malinverni, Peter Bernstein, and Anaïs Reno will take the stage to present a performance dedicated to jazz standards from the Great American Songbook. This trio of immensely talented jazz artists, each involved in exciting new projects, will deliver an evening filled with classic tunes and exceptional musicianship, setting the perfect tone for the weekend celebration.
