Hosted on the Historic Grounds of the Richardson Towers
As we approach Labor Day weekend, jazz fans from all around Western New York are gearing up for the 3rd Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival, presented by JazzBuffalo. On Sunday, September 1st, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm, the festival will once again transform the stunning Richardson Olmsted Campus into a vibrant jazz community.

Set against the backdrop of the historic Richardson Hotel Buffalo and the picturesque South Lawn, this year’s free festival promises to be an unforgettable day of music, community, and cultural celebration. The event has grown into an exciting gathering, uniting people from all walks of life to enjoy the sounds of spectacular jazz while basking in the glow of one of Buffalo’s most iconic landmarks.
Building upon last year’s record attendance, the 2024 festival is shaping up to be even more dynamic. Featuring an exciting lineup of talented artists, the day will include performances from local favorites and rising stars alike. Attendees will be treated to the captivating string sounds of Vibrant Strings, the high-energy rhythms of the Wendel Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble, the smooth stylings of the Jay Sharp-tet, the swinging sounds of My Cousin Toné, and the infectious traditional sounds of the Fredtown Stompers.

Approximate times for the performances are:
1:00 pm – Vibrant Strings
2:20 pm – My Cousin Toné
3:40 pm – Jay Sharp-tet
5:00 pm – Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble
6:30 pm – The Fredtown Stompers
What makes the Buffalo Jazz Festival so special is its ability to bring together the community in a shared love for jazz and for the city of Buffalo. It’s a time for friends, families, and music lovers to gather, connect, and celebrate the richness of jazz and Buffalo’s vibrant culture. Whether you’re a seasoned jazz aficionado or new to the genre, the festival offers something for everyone – from salsa dancing to Latin Jazz, to swinging the afternoon away to timeless jazz classics. And new this year are free salsa dance lessons by Calvin Rice and free swing dance lessons by Swing Buffalo!

Mark your calendars for September 1st and join us at the beautiful Richard-Olmsted Campus for a day of unity, joy, and incredible music. Bring your friends, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and experience the magic of the 3rd Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival!
