A Night of Jazz for a Cause
The ECC Foundation is set to host an exciting and jazzy fundraising event—the SUNY Erie Lounge Gala—on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 from 6 pm to 9 pm, at The Powerhouse, one of Buffalo’s premier venues. This one-night-only event will feature Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Scott Healy and a sextet of top musicians, bringing entertaining jazz to what promises to be a memorable night, all in support of the students of SUNY Erie Community College.
This gala is not just about music; it’s about making a profound difference. The ECC Foundation’s mission is to provide essential scholarships and emergency funds that enable students to stay in school and complete their education. In a time when financial barriers can so often disrupt a student’s path, the SUNY Erie Lounge Gala is an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy an evening of entertaining jazz, and ensure that students have the support they need to succeed.
For many SUNY Erie students, financial challenges can threaten their ability to continue their education. The ECC Foundation’s efforts, through events like this, provide the critical assistance necessary for students to stay enrolled and reach their goals. Whether it’s through scholarships or emergency funds, every dollar raised will go directly toward helping students build a brighter future.
At the gala, attendees will be treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner featuring a variety of gourmet delights, including Applewood Smoked Bacon Medjool Dates, Cacio e Pepe Arancini, and a Burrata Bar, as well as savory cuts of Top Round of Beef and Tenderloin of Pork. The event also includes a three-hour open bar to accompany the exceptional jazz performances.
With a lineup that promises to deliver an unforgettable evening of music and community, Scott Healy, best known as the keyboardist for Late Night With Conan O’Brien, whose work as a composer and pianist has earned him a Grammy nomination—will be joined by a stellar group of musicians, creating a relaxed jazz yet exhilarating atmosphere. Guests will enjoy not just the music but the camaraderie of community-minded people and leaders from across Buffalo and Erie County, all coming together for a worthy cause.
By attending the SUNY Erie Lounge Gala, you’re not just getting a night of fantastic jazz—you’re actively supporting the educational dreams of SUNY Erie Community College students. Your participation helps ensure that finances are never a barrier to receiving an education and contributes to the foundation’s larger mission of transforming lives through learning.
