How JazzBuffalo Brings Experience and Belonging to Buffalo This Holiday Season
In jazz, perhaps more than any other art form, the experience of sharing, connecting, and fostering community plays a central role. As JazzBuffalo grows and continues its mission, it’s clear that building a strong and inclusive jazz community is not just about music; it’s about creating lasting experiences and a sense of belonging for everyone involved.
One way we are achieving this vision is through initiatives like the Art Meets Jazz series. This unique series brings together art and jazz in intimate, gallery-style settings, blending live jazz performances with visual art displays by regional artists. By combining these two art forms, Art Meets Jazz provides a deeper, multi-layered experience, allowing audiences to appreciate the connections between the sounds of jazz and the creativity of visual artists. The gatherings are designed to inspire conversation, foster connection, create relationships, and offer people a memorable experience that goes beyond the music alone.
Join us at one of three remaining Art Meets Jazz events this year:
Wednesday, November 20: Art Meets Jazz ft. Jazz Vocalist Vanessa Vacanti and Artist Frani Evedon
Our partnership with Seneca One, in collaboration with the Douglas Development Corporation, is another testament to this community-building mission. Together, we’ve transformed spaces within this historic building and The Richardson Towers Campus into immersive environments where audiences can celebrate jazz in a setting that amplifies the experience—welcoming, inclusive, and full of history. Events at Seneca One and in the Tellers Lobby Bar are designed to serve as meeting points for jazz fans, friends, and families. These spaces have become a destination where audiences can relax, enjoy the music, and connect with one another in an inspiring atmosphere.
Join us for a special Thanksgiving weekend of swinging in the holidays and a holiday jazz concert to enjoy on December 14th at Seneca One Auditorium:
Saturday, November 30th: A Swinging Cool Christmas ft. Jazz Vocalist Vanessa Vacanti
Sunday, December 1st: Vince Gualardi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” ft. The Ed Croft Trio
Saturday, December 14th: Corinne Mammanna’s “In Love at Christmastime”
With every JazzBuffalo event, whether it’s a concert, a series, or a collaboration, we aim to bring our community closer together. By thoughtfully fostering collaborative partnerships, and emphasizing the connection between the arts and our lives, JazzBuffalo continues to build a vibrant, lasting jazz culture in Buffalo—one that unites us, inspires us, and brings us closer together.
