Honoring a True Legend of Buffalo
Buffalo has a rich musical legacy, and few names shine as brightly as Harold Arlen. As the composer behind some of the most beloved songs in the Great American Songbook, including the timeless Over the Rainbow, Arlen’s contributions to jazz and popular music are nothing short of legendary. This Sunday, February 16, we come together at Kleinhans Music Hall to celebrate his 120th birthday—a milestone that pays tribute not only to his extraordinary artistry but also to Buffalo’s deep-rooted connection to jazz history.
The overwhelming support for this event from our jazz community and beyond is truly inspiring. It’s a testament to the passion we share for honoring the giants who have shaped the music we love. Your enthusiasm ensures that Arlen’s legacy continues to thrive for generations to come. We can’t wait to experience this special celebration with you and shine a well-deserved spotlight on one of Buffalo’s greatest musical legends!
Warm regards,
Tony Zambito
