Listen To and Watch Two Interviews To Get You Ready for the Joe Alterman Trio Plays the Music of Les McCann
As we look forward to the Art of Jazz Series: Joe Alterman Trio concert on Sunday, March 9, we’re excited to share an insightful interview from our media partner Jazz 90.1 WGMC out of Rochester!
In this engaging conversation, Joe Alterman speaks with Derrick Lucas about his remarkable journey in jazz, his special mentorship with the legendary Les McCann, and how McCann’s soulful, joyful music continues to inspire his own performances. The interview provides a heartfelt glimpse into the music and stories that will be brought to life at the upcoming concert.
In addition, watch an interview on News 4 WIVB with Tony Zambito of JazzBuffalo and Scott Patterson of News 4 WIVB as they discuss the happy music of soul jazz and the meaningful experience available to the community.
A big thank you to Jazz 90.1 WGMC and News 4 WIVB for their continued support of the Art of Jazz Series and for helping us share Joe Alterman’s music and the legacy of Les McCann with the community.
