Jazz Meets Captivating Art to Revitalize Downtown Buffalo
Buffalo’s cultural heart is set to beat even stronger with a truly unique event by the Arts Meets Jazz Series. This special evening will showcase the exceptional talent of Wendell Rivera, Buffalo’s long-term ambassador of Latin Jazz—known for his award-winning Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble, voted Buffalo’s favorite Latin Jazz group for 10 consecutive years in the JazzBuffalo Poll—in a creative new trio format. Joining him are the dynamic keys of Lisa Hasselback and the soulful saxophone of Nelson Rivera, together creating a performance that amplifies the sounds and rhythm of Latin Jazz, delivering an experience as refreshing as it is unforgettable.
The event will be held at the Hunt Art Gallery and Beebe’s at the Gallery, located on the renovated first floor of the historic Brisbane Building at the corner of Washington Street and the iconic Lafayette Square. Adding another layer to this vibrant celebration, the night will also feature the captivating art exhibit “Sweet Spot” by Cassandra Ott and Rachael Shelton. Their work offers a visual counterpart to the music, inviting guests to explore the interplay between sound and color in a thoughtfully curated display.
This fusion of live music and contemporary art not only promises a one-of-a-kind event in downtown Buffalo but also plays a vital role in revitalizing our arts and music landscape. By bringing together diverse artistic expressions under one roof, we are creating new opportunities for uniting our community and cultural growth.
Join us for an evening where the magic of live jazz and the allure of visual art come together to transform downtown Buffalo into a vibrant hub of creativity and inspiration.
