Herbie Hancock Returns to Buffalo!
Buffalo is in for an extraordinary musical treat this fall as the University of Buffalo Center for the Arts welcomes the incomparable Herbie Hancock back to Western New York for what will surely be a highly anticipated second performance in our city in recent years—following his spectacular concert at Kleinhans Music Hall in June of 2022. The University at Buffalo Center for the Arts is proud to present Herbie Hancock on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 7 p.m., offering you the rare opportunity to witness a true musical icon whose groundbreaking work has redefined jazz for decades.
Herbie Hancock’s illustrious career boasts 14 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. A visionary and innovator, Hancock continuously pushes the boundaries of creativity, seamlessly blending acoustic and electronic jazz with elements of funk and rock. His pioneering spirit has inspired countless musicians and music lovers around the globe, making this performance a not-to-be-missed event for anyone passionate about the transformative power of jazz.
Hancock has been an integral force behind every major musical movement since the ‘60s. As a key member of the Miles Davis Quintet—pioneers of a groundbreaking jazz sound—Hancock developed innovative recording techniques that blended electric jazz with funk and rock, leaving an indelible mark on both acoustic and electronic jazz and R&B. In Miles Davis’s own words, “Herbie was the step after Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk and I haven’t heard anybody yet who has come after him.”
Currently serving as the Creative Chair for Jazz with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and as the voice of International Jazz Day, Hancock’s extraordinary journey began at age 11 when he performed a Mozart piano concerto with the Chicago Symphony. From that early prodigy moment to his collaborations with legends such as Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Chick Corea, and Carlos Santana, his talent and versatility remain incomparable.

“We are honored to bring Herbie Hancock to Western New York,” says Jamie Enser, UBCFA Executive Director. “This concert promises to be an extraordinary event that will be enjoyed by a wide spectrum of music lovers of all ages.”
Tickets go on sale April 4 and are available online at ubcfa.org, through Ticketmaster, or at the UBCFA Ticket Office (open Tuesday through Friday from noon–6 p.m.). Ticket prices range from $49 to $134.
