Resiliency Shapes a New Path Forward
In every great city, the arts have always served as both a mirror and a light—reflecting who we are and illuminating the path forward. Here at JazzBuffalo, we’ve faced a couple of setbacks, but it’s our collective resilience that continues to define us. When challenges arise, we respond not by retreating, but by imagining new possibilities rooted in what makes our city special: creativity, community, and culture.
That spirit carries us into a promising new chapter—one that begins with the August 10th New Orleans Celebration on Ellicott Street, a vibrant street festival that captures the heart of jazz and the joy of shared experience. At the same time, we’re excited to begin planning discussions with Kleinhans Music Hall—home of the Grammy-winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra—on launching a unique Jazz at the Philharmonic program. Inspired by the historic series founded by Norman Granz, this reimagined effort has the potential to bring internationally acclaimed jazz into the heart of our city and spark renewed energy in Buffalo’s downtown.
Together, these efforts represent more than events—they are investments in the cultural life of our city and affirmations of what Buffalo can be when we are resilient and lead with vision, heart, and the arts.
With gratitude,
Tony Zambito
