A New Chapter Begins This Sunday
This Sunday, August 10th, marks an exciting new chapter—not only in the story of JazzBuffalo but in the story of our community. We are proud to present the Buffalo Jazz Festival Prelude: A New Orleans Celebration with The Brass Machine. This event marks a significant step forward in our shared commitment to revitalizing downtown Buffalo.
For the first time, we are closing off a portion of Ellicott Street to celebrate jazz, community, and civic pride—right in the heart of the city. This unprecedented move is made possible through a unique and meaningful partnership with Tappo Restaurant, and we are thrilled to welcome Big Ditch Brewery as a new collaborator in this growing celebration. Together, we aim to set the foundation for the Buffalo Jazz Festival, the 4th Annual set for Sunday, August 31, to become a truly city-defining festival—one that brings us together around the joy of music and the spirit of unity.
We hope you will join us this Sunday as we lay the groundwork for future growth and cultural vibrancy—one note, one beat, and one celebration at a time.

Join Us For A Special Bourbon Street Style Celebration August 10th!
JazzBuffalo will bring the spirit of New Orleans Jazz to downtown with a reimagined format. We’ll transform Ellicott Street, closed to traffic, in front of Tappo Restaurant, into a vibrant dancing Bourbon Street party atmosphere, the kind you’d find in New Orleans or other great jazz cities.
Be sure to check out our articles about this exciting event! And yes—feel free to bring your own chairs. While tables and chairs will be set up on the street for those dining and ordering from Tappo Restaurant’s special menu, the street will also be open to anyone who wants to bring their own folding chairs to enjoy the music and festivities.
