Jazz in Buffalo: A Destination On The Swing Up

Swinging Up

Over the past few years, Buffalo has truly reemerged as a destination for major jazz artists — a city once again finding itself on the touring maps of the very best in the art form. Slowly but surely, Buffalo is reclaiming its well-deserved place among the country’s notable jazz cities. This kind of artistic vibrancy doesn’t just happen by chance; it’s the result of a shared commitment across organizations, venues, and supporters who believe deeply in the power of live jazz to enrich our cultural life.

What’s especially exciting is that we’ve seen this before — Buffalo has had its golden eras of jazz, and history tells us that the music here moves in cycles. But this time, we’re on a mission to sustain it. Through cornerstone programs like Jazz at Kleinhans, we’re laying a foundation designed for the long term. Buffalo is swinging up — and together, we intend to keep it that way.

With gratitude,
Tony Zambito
Executive Director, JazzBuffalo
