Bringing The Jazz Lounge experience to the Statler is especially fitting: the building holds nearly a century of jazz history. From the lively jazz bands and orchestras that filled its ballrooms in the 1920s to legendary performances in the Statler’s former jazz-centered Downtown Room by artists such as Dizzy Gillespie and Kenny Burrell, the Statler has long been a home for jazz in Buffalo. Each month, some of the region’s finest jazz duos, trios, and quartets will create an atmosphere that exudes jazz lounge music — the perfect complement to handcrafted cocktails and the inviting hum of the evening crowd.

For our opening night, Thursday, January 29th, we’ll feature the jazz lounge sounds of the George Kane Trio (George Kane – guitar, Tim Clarke – trumpet, and acoustic upright bass) and special guest jazz vocalist, Cheryl Ferris.

We’ll begin The Jazz Lounge as a monthly experience, thoughtfully gauging interest and momentum as we explore whether expanding beyond once a month can become a sustainable and exciting next step for the community.

An Evening Perfectly Paced

Doors open at 7 PM with curated jazz tracks to set the mood. Live music begins at 8 PM, and the evening concludes by 10 PM — perfectly paced for an enchanting Thursday night in downtown Buffalo.

Guests are invited to enjoy Milton’s signature handcrafted cocktails and specially prepared charcuterie cups throughout the evening — the perfect complement to the lounge’s refined yet relaxed atmosphere.
