A Landmark Jazz at Kleinhans Concert on Valentine’s Day Weekend You Won’t Want to Miss
Buffalo, we are in the midst of something extraordinary.
As we continue building Buffalo’s Premier Jazz Center at the iconic Kleinhans Music Hall, we are honored to present a truly special event—Tierney Sutton, the internationally renowned 9-time GRAMMY® nominee, joining us on Sunday, February 15 at 3 pm for a special celebration of Harold Arlen, one of the most significant composers in American music history—and one of Buffalo’s greatest gifts to the world.
This is jazz where the melody still matters.
This is artistry that speaks to the heart—not noise, not experimentation, but a musical experience full of elegance, emotions, and story.
Tierney Sutton stands among the finest vocalists of our generation. Her interpretive depth, emotional clarity, and world-class musicianship have earned her a devoted global following. To hear her bring Harold Arlen’s iconic music to life—“Over the Rainbow,” “Stormy Weather,” “That Old Black Magic,” “I’ve Got the World on a String,” and more—is to experience the Great American Songbook as it was meant to be heard: timeless, beautifully rendered, and deeply moving.
She will be joined by the award-winning pianist Tamir Hendelman. Hendelman has not only performed with Tierney Sutton but also served as musical collaborator and accompanist for Barbara Streisand. He was also a longtime member of the Jeff Hamilton Trio as well as the Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton big band.

Why This Concert Matters

This Harold Arlen Celebration with Tierney Sutton is more than a performance—it is an annual moment for Buffalo to honor its legacy. A moment to honor our musical heritage, honor Buffalo’s most significant contribution to the American Songbook, elevate internationally acclaimed jazz in our city, and gather as a community around the music that continues to define American history.
After our exhilarating, sold-out Jazz at Kleinhans launch earlier this month, this next concert represents another important step in building a premier jazz center that Buffalo can proudly call its own.
