A Legacy Worth Celebrating
This past Sunday, we opened Jazz at Kleinhans 2026 in a way that perfectly reflects why this program exists — with a meaningful celebration of one of Buffalo’s greatest musical legacies, Harold Arlen.
The Harold Arlen Celebration is more than a concert. It is a statement. It says that Buffalo honors artistry at the highest levels. It says that the music born here — the music that shaped the American Songbook — deserves to be presented in a hall worthy of its brilliance. And it says that jazz, in all its sophistication and spirit, has a true home in our city.
With Jazz at Kleinhans, we are establishing something lasting: Buffalo’s premier jazz home — a place where internationally acclaimed artists perform in one of the world’s great halls, and where our community gathers to experience this extraordinary American art form together.
The energy in the hall affirmed what we have long believed — Buffalo is ready. Ready to embrace world-class jazz. Ready to support ambitious programming. Ready to build something that reflects the cultural depth and pride of our city.
And we are just getting started.
As we look ahead to the remainder of this season, we are filled with excitement — and gratitude. Gratitude for your belief in this vision. Gratitude for your presence in the hall. Gratitude for your trust as we continue building this program together.
Please be sure to save the date: Sunday, February 7, for the 3rd Annual Harold Arlen Celebration, featuring Tony Award nominee Ann Hampton Calloway. It promises to be another unforgettable afternoon honoring Buffalo’s most iconic songwriter with the elegance and artistry his music deserves.
Thank you for being part of this journey. What we are creating is not simply a concert series — it is a cultural cornerstone for Buffalo.
And the best is yet to come.
With gratitude,
Tony Zambito
