A spectacular night at The Jazz Lounge with the Simon Fletcher Quartet marks the beginning of a renewed lounge tradition at the Statler—bridging Buffalo’s jazz legacy with a bold vision for the future.
Last night was something special.
After decades, jazz returned to the Historic Rendezvous Room at the iconic Statler Buffalo—and what a way to begin again. A spectacular performance by the Simon Fletcher Quartet filled the room with artistry, spirit, and the unmistakable energy that only live jazz can create.
Most of all, we are deeply grateful.
Grateful for the trusting, near-full-capacity audience who joined us for The Jazz Lounge experience. Grateful for the thoughtful and generous suggestions shared afterward about how we can continue improving the experience. We hear you. We appreciate you. And we’ll be working on them.

The evening felt like a true bridge—honoring the rich legacy of jazz that once lived in that room while pointing toward the promise of a future home for local, regional, and national artistry in a genuine lounge atmosphere. This is something our community has been missing for a few decades. To feel it again—even in its first steps—was meaningful.
As with all worthwhile endeavors, we will crawl, walk, and eventually run. With patience. With partnership. With belief.
Our goal is simple but ambitious: to create something truly special for our city, our downtown, and our fabulous community.
Last night was a beginning. And what a beautiful beginning it was.
