Buffalo: A Great American Songbook City
This past weekend at Kleinhans Music Hall was a powerful reminder of what makes this music—and this community—so meaningful.
The John Pizzarelli Trio’s Dear Mr. Bennett performance was nothing short of extraordinary. With elegance, swing, and heartfelt storytelling, the music of Tony Bennett came to life in a way that resonated deeply with a full and enthusiastic audience. It was more than a tribute—it was a celebration of the Great American Songbook and all that it represents.
Moments like this affirm something we continue to believe: Buffalo is, indeed, a Great American Songbook city.
That spirit carried forward as we announced the 2026–2027 Jazz at Kleinhans program—one that builds on this identity with intention, bringing together internationally acclaimed artists who honor the tradition while continuing to move it forward.
This is what we are building—together.
